Program details

Graduates with a diploma or degree may receive a post-diploma certificate in Data Science by completing an additional 24 credits of STAT and DSCI courses from a given list. This certificate will be of interest to students who have completed a BBA, BCIS or another related degree or diploma and want to add some experience in Data Science.


Students will receive thorough training in Statistics and Data Science. Students should enter the program with a sound foundational background in Statistics and Calculus. Students without this background will be asked to complete MATH 314 and STAT 230. From there, students build on and apply these foundational skills to a diverse set of areas. Courses in this program are taught with a variety of applications and the mathematical, statistical, and data science concepts learned are universally applicable to a wide range of disciplines.

Complete All of the following:
Completed either in a previous degree or during this diploma: MATH 314 (or equivalent) and STAT 230 (or equivalent)
DSCI 300 - Data Wrangling and Visualization
DSCI 310 - Mathematics Computation
DSCI 400 - Machine Learning I
DSCI 401 - Machine Learning II
Complete at least 4 of the following:
DSCI 315 - Dashboards and Analytic Reporting
DSCI 420 - Mathematics for Machine Learning
STAT 310 - Regression Analysis
STAT 311 - Modern Statistical Methods
STAT 443 - Time Series Analysis and Forecasting
